five points and the north side
Created by hughgraham
go north, young man!
head toward greeley, horace!Though the city’s elite moved to the south and east, the north side of town is where the people of color lived (and were buried).
If you are interested in the black american experience, visit Dr. Justina Ford’s house, now the home to the Black American West Museum.
The best jazz bands of the golden age played at the Rossonian; no doubt the all black crew at the Fire Station #3 was called on more than a few times to put out the fire.
And then, there’s riverside, where Barney and Julia Ford (but not Justina) are buried.
